Campbell spit

by the time we had consumed the usual calorie free Canadian breakfast the rain had finally eased though it remained dulllllll; the small spit at the north end of Campbell River had proven good for birds on a previous visit so we headed there to mingle with the power and dog walkers and the hand tame California Gulls plus the nice male Brewer's Blackbird but what I didn't expect when scanning the small area of short grass was a superb juvenile Buff-breasted Sandpiper running around between all the people
