Humber Gannets

today was a patch Gannet day with 108+ juvenile Gannets tracking up to the bridge during the day -- when they get close to the structure they panic and divert in any direction with flocks splitting and birds cascading towards the water below; some are forced over or even under the bridge and are effectively then inland and a lost cause? does make you wonder what they do when they meet up with an offshore wind farm in these weather conditions -- assumedly there will be no-one actually looking to see what effect they have in strong winds with rain and poor visibility
the middle two are a Manx Shearwater another loss to the gene pool
