this was one of 3 Black-tailed Godwits in Barton Haven this morning ; when I went out it was -12C ; all of the birds were covered in ice with icicles hanging from their belly feathers as they had roosted in the grass on the foreshore; they were attempting to feed but like many waders they certainly look in a sorry state
