juvenile harriers

after 5 - 6 weeks seeing only your closest family and the inside of a reedbed plus the sky it must be a real revelation for a juvenile Marsh Harrier when it first leaps up from the reeds and sees the world outside -- this is a juv from a later nest -- I have been late starting this year and several nests have young that ware already wandering well away from the immediate nest site like the lower bird here
