when you photograph wild birds as opposed to captive ones getting the right action poses is always a lottery -- a single bird is not too bad and can be predictable with experience but flocks and groups of birds are much more tricky and when the action is a bit frantic there is no time for clear composition or framing of the action and getting three birds, as here, in nice poses without bits missing is just down to luck no matter what some pros write -- most of these have something slightly wrong or that could have been better but hey ho the light was nice
