an hour at Barton early am produced 12 Little Auks and a Puffin the latter was the first record on the patch since 1996 when a juvenile was present on October 30th----1200 Starlings also flew west in several flocks and 24 Goldeneye
the remainde rof the day at North Killingholme produced another 51 Little Auks, 130 Common scoter, a pair of Goosander, 70 Goldeneye, + the usual 3600 Black-tailed Godwits, 1100 Dunlin
this Little Auk landed close to the sea wall for just a few seconds---a less fortunate individual was persistently mobbed by 5 Common Gulls one of which picked it out of the water only to be dis-possessed by a Great Black back which made short work fo the auk
